Your teens are a time of self-discovery, and your twenties are about having fun and getting established in your career. By the time you reach your third decade in life, chances are you will want to feel like you’re settled and have things together pretty well. Of course, we all reach milestones for things like marriage, kids, buying a house and career goals at different rates, but there are some things that we should all aim to have. Here are just a few ideas.
A carefully curated wardrobe
The way we present ourselves is so important, and clothes are great a way to show our style and personality. Stop buying clothes on impulse or just because they’re on sale, instead your wardrobe should be filled with carefully chosen pieces that you love and look good on you. You should have staple pieces that allow you to create an outfit for every occasion, and don’t forget decent underwear. Brands like Freya Bras have lots of styles available, so choose what you feel comfortable and confident in.

A beautiful bedroom
Regardless of whether you’re already on the property ladder, you’re renting or still at home with parents to save money, by the time you’re thirty you should have a beautiful bedroom to retire to at the end of each day. Invest in a bed with a really good mattress and treat yourself to luxurious bedding. You should have storage to keep all of your possessions neat and tidy and so you know where everything is. Give the room a coat of paint and freshen everything up. Going to bed in a tidy room can reduce stress and even improve sleep quality.
An exercise you love
When you’re younger it’s easier to maintain your weight, as time passes this gets increasingly difficult. Even if you’ve been the same size your whole life, unless you’re careful you might find you start gaining some weight as you transition into your thirties. We all know the importance of health, and by the time you reach your third decade, you should be taking responsibility for it. Find an activity you love, this could be hiking, biking, running, going to the gym, dance classes, swimming, yoga- anything that gets you moving and keeps your strength and endurance up.
Good budgeting skills
Money is difficult to master, many of us feel like we need more due to high bills and rent and generally the high price of living. But it’s important to be able to manage what you have, by the time you reach thirty ideally you will be debt free and working on getting some savings behind you. You should be able to pay your bills and afford what you need on the money that you earn.
Do you have a list of goals you want to achieve by the time you reach a certain age?

I’m almost in my 30’s and i’m really starting to take note of my health in terms of exercise and eating well. I suffer with chronic illness so it’s all about balance and resting often so I don’t make my conditions flare. 🙂
