If you decide to turn your blog into a business by earning money, it can be scary step – where do you start, who can help, how do you make it a success and worth all the extra hassle you have of declaring yourself self-employed to HMRC, keeping records etc etc. We of course try to help as much as we can, however we are just a small fish in a big sea and that’s where programmes such as Webfluential come along. In fact influencer marketing seems to be on the rise and more companies are looking to team up with people with already established audience to help get their campaigns out there.
What is Webfluential?
Webfluential have been running in Africa for a while (check out this blog post on how they have helped bloggers there) and have apparently been very successful. On the back of that success they are hoping to come to the UK and bring their own unique network to us all. They cleverly take our profiles and automatically send them to brands who are looking to work with people like us.
What makes them different?
I’ve often come across networks that say they will give you an idea on the prices you should be charging and when you log on, you are told you should be paid $15 for a post, so you stop look and think; come on you have to be kidding me and log off never to sign back on. So I was a bit dubious of Webfluential’s selling point that is helped you set the price. However in looking into it deeper, it seems to give you the “average” price bloggers of your same influence are charging and as such, gives you a more rounded figure that might just surprise you. They don’t help with blog post prices, those are up to you (at least at the minute) but they do help with social media share prices – which I think for many of us find completely out of our depths.
How do you sign up?
It is actually surprisingly easy you sign up with your twitter account and then add on your other social media platforms to give a rounded view of just how influential you are. You of course set your prices (though as I said before Webfluential can help) and then you sit back and wait.
How do campaigns work?
Once you are invited to a campaign you will get an email notification, you can then log onto your account check out the details and decide if you would like to take part, if the answer is yes you then wait for the campaign to begin at which point you will be given the collateral needed to complete the post / social shares and the date by which it needs completing. Once the campaign has ended all participants will receive payment 30 days later and there is no need for you to sorting out invoices as Webfluential do all that for you.
If you’re still not sure if they are the platform for you – take a look at this quick video which will give you more of an insight into them:
If you do decide to sign up, I shall hopefully see you there!
