Now it’s really spring, all the trees and plants are coming to life, so I’m taking my nail art inspiration from that fresh start. Nail art with Greenery is Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017, and it’s the main colour inspiration for my design.
Greenery is a yellow-leaning green, and reminds me of spring. Pantone say:
“A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.”

I started with a base coat (I use Nailtiques) and two coats of The More The Merrier. It goes on easily, but not too streaky like pale polishes can do.
I set my base with some quick-dry top coat (Seche Vite is my favourite) and move on to stamping.
The main tool I use for nail art stamping is this clear silicone stamper. It’s very squishy, but completely transparent so you position the design exactly.
To go with the Greenery colour, I chose a leafy design stamped in a green polish. Stamping is a really easy way to add some really fine details, and it’s really quick too.
If I change the position and angle of the design each time, every nail looks a bit different. I also add a few dots of Giovanna around the leaves, in organic curving lines. To get the dots really small, I dip the tip of a fine nail art brush into the polish.
Once the dots are dry, I sealed everything in with another coat of Seche Vite.

I hope you like this design, and the colour Greenery. It can be a bit challenging if you’re used to pinks and reds on your nails, but I think it’s perfect for spring.

I’m mostly a Chanel red girl for the most, but come summer, I really love using greens. This is a fab and funky shade, very festival and party like. I like it a lot.

I used to bite my nails too! Even that horrible tasting stuff didn’t really make a difference. Try getting gels to break the habit.
