A while ago I was gifted a Karcher Window Vac, we were sent the WV60 version to review. For anyone that knows me, knows I love a tidy home but recently I have been struggling to make sure all our windows in our home stay nice and clean. We have a large conservatory which often can get mucky due to dirty hands, condensation and day to day use. The windows are large and I find it extremely tiring trying to clean the windows by hand so I was thrilled to be sent a Karcher Window Vac to review.
The Karcher Window Vac arrived in a medium sized box. I was personally expecting the box to be a little bigger. Inside the box you were able to find: Window vac WV60, wiper X 1, spray bottle with microfiber wiper, glass cleaner concentrate 20ml, vacuum nozzle 280mm, vacuum nozzle 170mm, lithium ion battery and a battery charger.
As soon as the window vac arrived I wanted to use it straight away. I had never used a device like it previously opting to clean windows by hand and opting to use cleaners found in supermarkets, sponges and water. I was scared that the Karcher Window Vac may have been a little to complexed for me to use as well as a struggle to set up, however I had needed not to worry as the whole process was easy and the Karcher was simple to use.
I charged the device up for around 2 hours before use. To do this all I simply needed to do was plug the charger into the charging slot at the bottom of the device and leave it charge. Once charged I was able to go ahead and use the Karcher on my windows.
To give the windows a nice shiny, smear free finish I needed to: Spray the window that I was cleaning with a glass cleaning solution, rub the windows with the micro-fibre cloth to get the best results from the cleaner, then quickly vacuum the window starting at the top and working downwards.
I found that the Karcher worked well on all the windows around my home. They ended up looking clean, shiny and I loved the fact that I did not have to spend £20 on a window cleaner to get great results. The Karcher is priced at £59 on Amazon at the present moment which I find reasonable. £59 works out as 3 windows cleans by a professional, the Karcher would last a lot longer than the space of a window cleaner cleaning my windows 3 times meaning over a period of time it would save me money.
I found that the Karcher was very light weight and there were no issues with me holding it for a long period of time. I also felt that the Karcher was angled well-meaning I do not get wrist ache when using the Karcher over a long period of time. I found that the Karcher left very little mess when cleaning was in process and the Karcher included handy little features such as the cleaning pad which is machine washable.
Something which we also enjoyed about the Karcher Window Vac was the fact it was suitable to use on car windows. Ben takes extremely good care of his car and weekly he can be seen giving his windows a going over with our new handy gadget.
Overall we were extremely impressed with the Karcher Window Vac. Although there is a initial fee to pay to get one of these little gadgets in your home, in the long run it will help you save money and give you bright, clean, smear free windows.
