It’s that time of year where the leaves start to fall off the trees, the mornings are misty and the walk to preschool gets wet and cold. Maxwell and I love nothing more than going for walks and we also love the occasional trip to our local park however the British weather can be a problem. Due to me not driving, getting to A to B can sometimes be a pain in the colder winter months and recently I have been looking at options to keep Maxwell warm and dry.
As a parent I want to protect my child. I want to protect my child from getting cold on the long walk to preschool, I want to protect him from getting wet because the Great British weather decides it wants to rain on our parade and I want to protect his clothes from becoming wet and muddy. There is nothing much more appealing than a big muddy puddle to make a huge splash in on the way to the park. Recently we were given the chance to review the Regatta Splosh all in one suit.
From the word go the Regatta Splosh suit had Maxwell and I impressed. The design of the suit was thought out well and the features that the suit had were perfect for a enthusiastic child who enjoys investigating the outside world.
The suit we were sent is in the colour blue, it is easy for a child to get on and off with a simple zip which goes from the throat of the child down to the bottom of the child’s right leg. The suit is padded however it is not thick which allows the inside of the suit to breathe, the suit includes a fleece lining which will keep Maxwell nice and snug in the winter. The suit has taped seams which means little water is able to enter the suit when a child is playing. The suit allows plenty of movement and I would say the fitting is good.
Maxwell wore the suit to the park. Maxwell was able to climb the climbing frame in it, swing on the swings, go down slides which had puddles at the end and Maxwell was also able to enjoy splashing in muddy puddles to and from the park. The suit kept Maxwell dry and warm and not a drop of water managed to get onto Maxwell’s clothes. I was surprised at how well it tested against Maxwell’s play and I am able to confidently say that the outer fabric is strong and the Splosh suit is made to last.
One of the small touches which I loved about the suit was the fact that it had reflective trims. Although I hate walking in the dark, sometimes Maxwell and I have to and I often worry about his safety. Thanks to the reflective trim, Maxwell can now be seen in the dark.
Not only is the suit great for children to wear but it is also perfect to put in children’s bags for preschool. The suit is lightweight and is easy to fold up small. It is a brilliant item to add to a child’s bag.
