Preparing For A Hike

Hiking is certainly the new keep fit, so many people are hiking and enjoying the scenery at the same time.

Having suitable clothing for hiking is a must and of course, taking a nice picnic is a good idea also.

There is so many places you could go hiking, more than likely somewhere in your area.

Hiking.

But the first thing you need to look for is suitable clothing.
Having clothing that is comfortable is key, but also clothing that protects you from the elements is also a must.

Strong, sturdy boots or shoes is essential and a must have for any hiker, new or old.

Hi-Tec have great apparel for hiking and also those ‘must have’ accessories.

A sturdy bag is a good idea, keep your sun lotion, water, food and other little bits you need. Strongly recommend taking hand santiser/wipes, hand cream and of course lip balm.

Insoles are a good idea to keep your feet from aching or becoming sore.
Also taking fresh pairs of socks if it’s a warm day, nothing worse than sweaty feet!

As we all know, British weather is unstable, so taking a thin coat to protect from the rain is also valuable.

Take your camera, whilst enjoying the scenery, you can keep a few memories forever.

Indulge in your senses, take short breaks and have a sit down, maybe enjoy a spot of lunch.

More importantly, have fun!

Take an activity tracker if you are curious how many calories you have burned off, or track your steps. It’s a good way of seeing how much you have done and next time, walk a little further.

Binocular.

Now the question is where do we go?

There are some gorgeous spots around the UK, Lake District is a prime example.
You can wander around Scafell Pike, this was the first place I hiked when I was younger.
Have a wander round the North Lakes, or even just potter around Windermere.

Hiking is an adventure, so make a comfortable one.
