Oxo Ice Bucket Review – Stay cool!

I’m partial to a fancy cocktail (who isn’t?) but chance would be a fine thing!

Aha! Chance must have been on the cards this week as I’ve been testing out some mocktails with OXO Good grips Ice bucket. Which is just perfect for me as the sun has finally hit good old Brum!

Luckily it’s just gone half term so I’ve been able to kick up my heels with pitchers of Ice cold drinks, you know..for erm ‘test‘ purposes. But, who says we can’t have time to relax whilst reviewing a product? Not me!

Classy – Easily portable!

The OXO Ice Bucket comes with Tongs for serving Ice or garnish’s, which is lucky because this ice box comes with a built-in garnish compartment. The Box is a neutral grey colour, which is perfect for any picnic or kitchen set as it blends in effortlessly! I really do like the look and size of the bucket, it holds enough Ice for around 6 Pitchers of drinks so you could easily store enough Ice in it for a party.

OXO also have an Ice cube tray that creates adorable X’s and O’s for your Ice bucket and they threw that in for my to review. I loved the Ice cubes, perhaps a little too much. I’m not one for ‘prettying’ up my drinks but when it’s a special occasion it’s nice to have something a bit special and the X’s and O’s were a huge hit with everyone. I threw in a few coloured batches too to jazz up the drinks! The X’s have more surface area so do melt a bit quicker than normal Ice cubes but who cares, they’re adorable!

Maybe I was expecting a bit much from this though, as it is an ice bucket, I kind of thought I’d be able to keep the Ice cooler for a bit longer. Don’t get me wrong we were drinking in 19-degree weather, ( so-like scorching for Britain, ha!) but the Ice only lasted for around 30 minutes before it was complete slush. However, I put this down to the shape of the Ice cubes, they seemed to disappear quite quickly in the drinks, so I don’t think it’s necessarily the buckets fault.

“You stay classy San Diego” I know I will.
*The Ice bucket was given to me (Amy) for review purposes.

  1. I can’t believe you had 19 degree weather! We’ve had nothing but rain! An ice bucket sounds ideal for Summer drinks, but I agree that it needs to last longer than 30 minutes!

  2. This would be the right gift for my partner, he’s gone into a cocktail phase and ice is always needed.
